Omar Krad, MD
Dr. Krad is a board-certified ophthalmologist who combines advanced technology, surgical expertise, and a compassionate approach to help patients see their best. Above all, he is a family man, grateful to share life with his wife and their three beautiful children. His love for people and fascination with the human eye are what led him to a career dedicated to restoring and protecting vision. Today, he regularly helps restore sight for patients from all around the world, including physicians, surgeons, and fellow ophthalmologists who entrust him with their care.
Dr. Krad graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Chemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree from Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine, where he consistently received honors during his surgical training. After completing his internship at Northwestern University’s Evanston Hospital, he returned to Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital for his ophthalmology residency. There, he trained extensively in the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration.
With thousands of successful surgeries performed, Dr. Krad has earned a reputation for precise, patient-centered care. He has a special interest in advanced laser cataract surgery and modern lens replacement options, always tailoring treatments to meet each patient’s unique needs. His goal is to combine the safest and most effective technology with a personal touch, so every patient feels cared for like family.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Krad believes in giving back. He has volunteered on medical missions to the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Fiji, and the West Bank, bringing eye care to communities with limited access. These experiences continue to inspire his dedication to helping people see clearly and live fully.
California became home for Dr. Krad thanks to his love of nature and the outdoors. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, running, cycling, surfing, and swimming. He is also a licensed pilot who appreciates both the challenge and the freedom of flying.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic, Dr. Krad connects easily with patients from diverse backgrounds, making sure they feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care.
